Delhi NEET Counselling 2026

Delhi NEET UG Counselling 2026 is the admission process for MBBS and BDS seats across Delhi’s medical and dental colleges and it’s one of the most layered counselling systems. The 15% All India Quota (AIQ) seats, all seats at AIIMS New Delhi, all seats at the three Delhi University colleges (Maulana Azad Medical College, Lady Hardinge Medical College, and University College of Medical Sciences), and seats at the private/deemed colleges are counselled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Directorate General of Health Services, at mcc.nic.in. 

The 85% Delhi State Quota seats at Delhi Government colleges affiliated with Guru Gobind Singh Indraprastha University (GGSIPU) are counselled by the university itself at ipu.ac.in / ipu.admissions.nic.in, while post-allotment admission processing for the three DU colleges runs through the Faculty of Medical Sciences (FMSC), University of Delhi at fmsc.du.ac.in.

NEET UG 2026 was originally scheduled for 3 May 2026, but a fresh Re-NEET exam was held on 21 June 2026 for affected candidates, and the National Testing Agency (NTA) declared the final NEET UG 2026 result on 16 July 2026.

As of now, MCC has not yet released its Round 1 counselling schedule, it's widely expected in the first half of August 2026. GGSIPU has already announced its Admission Brochure 2026-27 but the counseling date for MBBS/BDS courses have to wait until the official declaration by MCC since GGSIPU conducts the medical admissions based on the schedule set by the MCC for Delhi NEET counselling 2026.

Types of Delhi NEET Counselling 2026

Delhi's counselling isn't one process, it's several running in parallel, split by both authority and seat type:

• All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling (15%): Run centrally by MCC across every medical and dental college in Delhi, open to NEET UG-qualified candidates from anywhere in India.
• AIIMS New Delhi Counselling: 100% of AIIMS Delhi's 132 MBBS seats (125 Indian nationals + 7 foreign nationals) are filled by MCC, there's no separate Delhi state quota concept here.
• Delhi University (DU) Counselling: 100% of seats at MAMC, LHMC (female-only), UCMS, and MAIDS (BDS) go through MCC; once allotted, candidates separately register on FMSC's portal for document verification and admission confirmation.
• GGSIPU Delhi Quota Counselling (85%): Covers the Delhi-quota share of VMMC&SJH, ABVIMS&RMLH, and ESIC MC Basaidarapur (though for these three, both AIQ and Delhi Quota are actually run by MCC), plus the full Delhi Quota at Dr. BSA Hospital Medical College and NDMC Medical College Hindu Rao, which GGSIPU itself counsels.
• Army College of Medical Sciences (ACMS) Counselling: A private-trust college (run by the Army Welfare Education Society) affiliated to GGSIPU, reserved mainly for wards of Army personnel.
• Deemed University Counselling: Hamdard Institute of Medical Sciences & Research (HIMSR), a Muslim-minority deemed university, fills its seats entirely through MCC's Deemed University Counselling.

Important Note: Who Conducts What

Before anything else, it helps to know which authority handles which seat, this is the single biggest source of confusion in Delhi's counselling.

Delhi NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria

Eligibility works differently depending on whether you're targeting the AIQ, the Delhi Quota, or a specific special-category seat.

Delhi NEET Counselling Process Step by Step

1. Check your NEET UG 2026/Re-NEET result and rank on neet.nta.nic.in.
2. Register on MCC's portal (mcc.nic.in) if you want to be considered for AIQ seats, AIIMS, the three DU colleges, or the deemed university HIMSR.
3. Also register on GGSIPU's admission portal if you want to be considered for the Delhi Quota at GGSIPU-affiliated colleges (VMMC&SJH, ABVIMS&RMLH, ESIC MC, Dr. BSA Hospital MC, NDMC Medical College) or ACMS.
4. Fill your choices in order of preference on whichever porta(s apply to you, MCC and GGSIPU run independent choice-filling and allotment cycles.
5. Check your seat allotment result for each round on the respective portal.
6. If allotted a GGSIPU-counselled seat, choose Freeze (lock the seat, exit further rounds) or Float (stay in the running for an upgrade) and pay the requisite fee.
7. If allotted an MCC-counselled DU-college seat (MAMC/LHMC/UCMS/MAIDS), separately register on FMSC's portal (fmsc.du.ac.in) after your MCC allotment, upload documents, and pay the registration fee.
8. Report to the allotted college in person with original documents, admit card, score card, and category certificates for verification.
9. Complete the surety bond / service bond formalities applicable to your college and quota.
10. Participate in subsequent rounds (Round 2, Round 3/Sliding, Stray Vacancy/Spot Round) as needed, remembering that MCC and GGSIPU each run their own round structure.

Delhi NEET Counselling Registration Process

Delhi splits across authorities, your registration path depends on which seats you're targeting:

For AIQ, AIIMS, DU colleges (MAMC/LHMC/UCMS/MAIDS), and HIMSR:

• Register directly on mcc.nic.in with your NEET UG 2026 roll number and details, following MCC's own registration, fee payment, and choice-filling process.
• Only after MCC declares your allotment to a DU college should you separately visit fmsc.du.ac.in then select Courses then click Undergraduate Courses (MBBS/BDS), click the registration link (posted under "Course updates – UG (MBBS/BDS)"), create login credentials, confirm your NEET roll number and date of birth, and complete your FMSC registration.
• FMSC online registration fee: Rs.1,000 for SC/ST/PwBD candidates; Rs.1,500 for General/OBC/EWS candidates (non-refundable).

For the Delhi Quota at GGSIPU-affiliated colleges and ACMS:

• Register on the GGSIPU admission portal at ipu.admissions.nic.in, enter your personal, academic, and contact details, and note your login ID and password carefully.
• GGSIPU's own online counselling does not charge a separate counselling participation fee at the registration stage but you will need to pay a Part Academic Fee of Rs.96,000 or Rs.60,000 (as applicable to the college/category) after seat allotment to confirm and remain eligible for subsequent rounds.

Delhi NEET Counselling Choice Filling

• Choice filling is compulsory, no choices means no consideration for allotment, on either the MCC or GGSIPU portal.
• On GGSIPU's system, you can edit, add, or delete preferences after Round 1 allotment for subsequent rounds but any newly filled list is what gets used for that round's allotment once the window closes.
• Freeze vs. Float (GGSIPU): After each round, Freeze locks in your allotted seat and exits you from further rounds; Float keeps you in the running for an upgrade in the next round, if you don't get a better seat, you simply retain what you already have.
• On MCC's system, the standard four-round structure (Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up/Round 3, Stray Vacancy) applies, each requiring you to lock in choices before the deadline for that round.
• Fill as many choices as realistically acceptable to you, a short choice list is one of the most common reasons candidates end up with no allotment at all.

Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Documents Required

Keep originals plus at least two sets of self-attested photocopies ready for both registration upload and physical verification at the allotted college:

• NEET UG 2026 (or Re-NEET) Admit Card and Score Card
• Class 10 (matriculation) certificate/marksheet, for date-of-birth verification
• Class 11th and 12th (10+2) marksheets and pass certificate, showing Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology, and English
• School certificate confirming the school is located within NCT of Delhi and that you attended regular classes there for 11th and 12th (required specifically for the Delhi Quota)
• Aadhaar card or another valid photo ID
• Passport-size photograph and scanned signature
• Migration/Transfer Certificate from the board/institution last attended
• Character certificate in the prescribed CBSE proforma
• Category certificate, where applicable: SC/ST certificate, OBC Non-Creamy-Layer certificate (issued on or after 1 April 2026), EWS certificate, PwBD (disability) certificate, or CW (Children/Widows of Armed Forces) Educational Concession Certificate
• Overseas Citizen of India (OCI) card, if applicable

Delhi's reservation matrix is applied consistently across both the GGSIPU and DU (FMSC) counselling systems, and it's a horizontal-and-vertical mix:

Delhi NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Process

• Allotment on both MCC and GGSIPU systems is based strictly on NEET UG 2026 merit, the candidate's filled choices, category, and seat availability, there's no separate entrance test for MBBS/BDS.
• GGSIPU-counselled seats: After allotment, pay the Part Academic Fee (Rs.96,000 or Rs.60,000, as applicable) to confirm your seat and remain eligible for the next round; choose Freeze or Float as explained above; report to the allotted institution with all documents for verification.
• MCC-counselled DU-college seats: After MCC's allotment, separately complete FMSC registration, then report to the allotted college (MAMC/LHMC/UCMS/MAIDS) with your NEET admit card, score card, and all original certificates for verification and to execute the required Surety Bond.
• Surety Bond (DU colleges): A bond of Rs.3 lakhs with two sureties must be executed at the time of provisional admission — payable if a student surrenders the seat in violation of MCC rules, leaves the course incomplete, or is terminated for misconduct. Original certificates stay with the college until course completion or bond payment.
• One-Year Compulsory Service Bond (new for this cycle): Both AIQ and State Quota UG and PG medical students at Delhi's government medical institutions must now serve in a GNCT of Delhi medical institution for one year after completing their course (including internship).
• No migration (to and fro) is permitted between medical colleges at the University of Delhi.
• Candidates who fail to pay fees, freeze/float, or report within the notified time automatically lose their seat and drop out of subsequent regular rounds (though they may still join a Spot/Stray Vacancy Round).
• Furnishing false or fraudulent information at any stage leads to cancellation of candidature/admission and forfeiture of fees, without further notice.

Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Fees

There are several fee components, and which ones apply to you depends on your counselling route:

Delhi NEET Counselling 2026 Merit List

Because Delhi runs multiple counselling systems in parallel, there isn't one single "Delhi merit list", MCC prepares its own all-India merit-cum-category list for AIQ, AIIMS, DU colleges, and HIMSR, while GGSIPU prepares a separate inter-se merit list (based on NEET UG 2026 rank and category) for the seats it counsels directly. Both are purely rank-and-category driven, there's no separate written or interview-based entrance component for MBBS/BDS in Delhi.

Delhi NEET Counselling Cut Off

The cutoff is the NEET UG rank/marks of the last candidate allotted a seat for a given college, category, and round, it isn't fixed in advance, and it eases across Round 1, Round 2, Round 3, and the Stray Vacancy/Spot Round as higher-ranked candidates lock in better seats elsewhere.  Official, round-wise cutoffs for 2026 will be published separately by MCC and GGSIPU after each round.
