For the 2025-26 academic year, the NEET PG 2025 examination took place on August 3, 2025, and the NEET PG Result was announced on August 19, 2025, by National Board of Examinations (NBE). Application process of online registration for counselling started from 23rd September to 27th September 2025, on the official website (www.jkbopee.gov.in).

The counselling for 50% state quota seats will be conducted by JKBOPEE while the remaining 50% will be filled by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) under All India Quota (AIQ). JKBOPEE will also cover the admission process for private medical colleges under Management and NRI quota respectively.

After NEET PG 2025 result declaration, the Provisional Merit List (PML) will be prepared using the enrolled candidates’ details and its respective NEET PG 2025 scores. The provisional merit list is the basis of allotment process, for PG medical courses in four PG medical colleges in Jammu and Kashmir with total of 341 seats.

To ensure fairness and merit-based admissions, JKBOPEE has laid down specific eligibility requirements that candidates must fulfill before participating in the counselling process. Below is a detailed and simplified explanation of the eligibility criteria for J&K NEET PG Counselling 2025.

Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 Registration Process

All applicants who have qualified in NEET PG 2025 are required to register with JKBOPEE to be eligible for admission under the State Quota. The entire process is done online and involves uploading of documents and verification of a student’s profile and details.

Step 1: Access the Official Website

  • Open the official website of JKBOPEE, i.e. www.jkbopee.gov.in.

On the home screen, you will find the option “Click to Apply” under the section NEET-PG 2025.

Step 2: Go through the Instructions Carefully

  • After the clicking, it will take the you to a page with the following information:
  1. Year and month of applying
  2. Registration schedule
  3. Instructions for uploading documents
  4. Steps that needs to be followed while filling the Registration form
  • Before proceeding with registration application, go through all the instructions below very carefully.

Step 3: New Registration

  • Click on “Click here to apply”.
  • Enter your NEET Roll Number, a valid email ID, and a mobile number.
  • Create a password for your account. (This password will be used for your login into your account in future).
  • You will receive an OTP in your registered email ID to activate your account.
  • After activation, you can login using your NEET Roll Number and the password you just created.

Step 4: Fill Personal Details

  • Fill in your personal, academic, and contact details carefully.
  • Make sure you validate/check your details before submitting as once you submit you can’t change it in the application form.

Step 5: Upload Required Documents

Candidates must upload scanned copies (100–200 KB in PDF format) of the following documents:

  1. MBBS Degree Certificate – Mandatory
  2. Internship Completion Certificate – Must be completed by 31st July 2025
  3. NEET PG 2025 Score Card – Mandatory
  4. Domicile Certificate – Must be from UT of Jammu & Kashmir or Ladakh
  5. MCI/State/UT Medical Council Registration Certificate – Mandatory
  6. Category Certificate – If applicable
  7. MCI Clearance Certificate – Required for candidates with foreign MBBS degrees

Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 Merit List

Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 Merit List will be prepared by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE) once the registration and document verification process is complete. This merit list will determine the preferences of eligibility for admission to MD, MS and PG Diploma courses in government and private medical colleges situated in the UT.

  • Upon completion of successful document verification and registration, JKBOPEE will issue a Provisional Merit List (PML) for all candidates who qualify NEET PG 2025. 
  • The order of the PML will be in accordance with descending merit based on NEET PG 2025 scores. The PML will also reflect each candidate’s category status. 
  • Candidates who have served in difficult areas or remote areas will be given higher marks according to Medical Council of India (MCI) rules. 
  • Candidates who can apply for this extra marks (Difficult Area marks) must have obtained minimum qualifying marks in NEET PG 2025 (National Board of Examinations – NBE) exam in order to be on the list.

Tie-Breaking Criteria

If there are 2 or more students with the same merit in the PML, their inter-se merit will be determined by the rank assigned in NEET PG 2025 result by NBE.

The Choice Filling process allows applicants to select and rank the colleges and courses they wish to attend, utilizing an online system, once the Provisional Merit List (PML) has been announced. 

Online Choice Filling

  • BOPEE has instituted an online process of preference submission to facilitate a simple, transparent, and accessible counselling experience for NEET PG 2025 applicants. 
  • Eligible applicants must visit official site (www.jkbopee.gov.in ) and fill out each course and college preference taking note of seat availability and relative merit position. 
  • The submission must be sequenced by priority ranking since seat allocation will rely solely on NEET PG merit, reservation category and preferences listed. 
  • The online choice filling process helps avoid the need for physical presence, making the entire counselling process more efficient and accessible.

Offline Submission (if Necessary)

  • Despite the process primarily being held online, the BOPEE maintains the right to provide an offline option for registration or counselling, if there will be a low number of candidates or in the interest of administration. 
  • The candidates will be required to visit one of the BOPEE offices located in Jammu or Srinagar, to physically submit their preferences.

Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 for the private medical colleges will be organized by the Jammu and Kashmir Board of Professional Entrance Examinations (JKBOPEE). According to the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, a common counselling process will be required for PG medical courses (MD/MS) admission to all the Government, Private and Deemed Universities in the UT. Common Counselling by BOPEE

  • All admissions, including management and NRI quota seats, to private medical colleges are done by common counselling by JKBOPEE.
  • No separate counselling is allowed by private institutions.

Seat Inclusion in Common Counselling

  • All seats in ASCOMS Jammu (including management quota and NRI quota) are included in the seat matrix released by BOPEE.
  • Candidates must indicate their preferences for these seats while filling the online preference form or during physical counselling.

Separate Rounds for NRI and Hindu Minority Quota

  • NRI and Hindu Minority Quota seats will be filled separately by BOPEE after scrutiny of additional documents.
  • Candidates must have registered and appear in the Provisional Merit List (PML) to be eligible.

Eligibility for Private College Seats

  • Candidates must be residents of J&K or Ladakh.

Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 Reservation Policy

The Government of the Union Territory of Jammu & Kashmir has enacted and issued the Jammu and Kashmir NEET PG Counselling 2025 Reservation Policy. This reservation policy is aimed to provide fair representation between communities and categories in MD/MS/PG Diploma courses offered by Government and Private Medical Colleges in the Union Territory. 

The reservation will be applicable for seats filled under J&K State Quota, whereas the admission will be based strictly on the NEET PG 2025 Merit along with the rules of reservation as well as the preferences of the candidates for admission during the counselling.
