In Chhattisgarh, counselling for 50% PG Medical seats will be conducted by Medical Counseling Committee (MCC) under All India Quota (AIQ) and 50% under state quota conducted by DME, Raipur. Also, as per National Medical Commission (NMC) guidelines, if EWS seats are available in the college, a 10% reservation is provided for candidates under the Economically Weaker Sections (EWS) category.

To participate in the Chhattisgarh NEET PG Counselling 2025, candidates must fulfill the eligibility conditions set by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Raipur and the National Medical Commission (NMC). Only candidates who meet all the criteria listed below will be considered for admission to MD, MS, and PG Diploma courses under the State Quota.

Chhattisgarh NEET PG Counselling Process 2025

The counselling is conducted online by the Directorate of Medical Education (CGDME) as per NMC/MCC guidelines and State rules. 50% of government college PG seats are sent as All India Quota (AIQ) and remaining are filled through State counselling. Some government colleges with seat increases have 10% EWS reservation. Private colleges have an 15% NRI quota.

Counselling rounds

  • Round 1 (Online): all registered eligible candidates can participate. After allotment, candidate can either accept (and join), accept and opt for upgradation, surrender and participate in next round, or exit.
  • Round 2 (Online): open to Round-1 non-allotted, those who opted for upgradation, and new registrants. Admission after Round-2 allotment is mandatory.
  • Mop-up Round (Round 3, Online): for remaining eligible/unallotted candidates; admission after mop-up is mandatory. If a candidate refuses to join after mop-up, registration fee may be forfeited and they become ineligible for further rounds.
  • Stray Vacancy Round (Round 4, usually physical unless notified online): only unallotted/newly registered candidates are eligible. Admissions here are final; no sliding/upgrade allowed from earlier rounds to stray round.

Round rules & sliding

  • Each round is independent; options/choices given in previous rounds become null and void, fresh preference entry is required for each round.
  • Sliding (upgradation) is allowed in Round 2 and Round 3 only. If a candidate gets upgraded, the earlier allotted seat is automatically cancelled and returned to the pool.
  • A seat once allotted to a candidate for a given subject & college will not be re-allotted to the same candidate again in the same subject & institute during the counselling process.

    Once the seat is allotted, the candidates are instructed to report to the allotted college within the stipulated time. Candidates will have to report in person and not doing so will lead to automatic cancellation of the seat allotment.
