Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 Schedule Released

Jharkhand Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board (JCECEB) has released an important notification regarding the submission of online application forms for preparation of the State Merit List based on NEET UG 2026. The process will be used for conducting the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and Stray Vacancy rounds of online counselling for admission to MBBS, BDS and B.H.M.S. courses in government and private medical institutions of Jharkhand.

According to the notification dated August 6, 2026, eligible NEET UG 2026 candidates seeking admission under the Jharkhand state quota must complete the online application process within the notified schedule. The State Merit List will be prepared on the basis of NEET UG 2026 results and the category or PwD claims made by candidates in the state counselling application.

The application form is to be submitted online through the JCECEB website. Candidates are required to pay the applicable registration/application fee through the available online payment gateway using Credit Card, Debit Card, Net Banking or UPI.

Who Can Apply for Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026?

Candidates must have qualified NEET UG 2026 and fulfil the eligibility conditions prescribed by the counselling authority. For MBBS, BDS and B.H.M.S. admissions, candidates must meet the prescribed age, educational and residential requirements.

The notification states that a candidate must have completed 17 years of age at the time of admission or by December 31, 2026. There is no upper age limit mentioned in the notification.

For educational eligibility, candidates must have passed the required qualifying examination with Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology and English individually. The minimum aggregate requirement is 50% in Physics, Chemistry and Biology/Biotechnology for unreserved and General-EWS candidates, while the prescribed qualifying percentage is 40% for SC, ST and OBC (NCL) candidates. The notification also specifies a 40% requirement for PwBD/PwD candidates under the applicable regulations.

Jharkhand NEET UG 2026 Residential Criteria

Candidates seeking admission under the state quota must fulfil the residential requirements prescribed by Jharkhand. The notification specifies that the candidate must be an Indian citizen and a Local/Permanent Resident of Jharkhand.

Candidates claiming state reservation must possess the required certificates in the prescribed format and issued by the competent authority.

Reservation and Category Certificates

JCECEB has specified separate provisions for candidates applying under reserved categories. These include BC-I, BC-II, EWS, PwD and Primitive Tribal Groups, among others.

Candidates applying under a reserved category or quota are required to claim the benefit only when they already possess the relevant certificate issued by the prescribed authority. Certificates issued by an unauthorised authority will not be accepted. Candidates recommended for admission under a reserved category will also have to produce their original certificates at the time of admission.

The Board has also stated that residential, caste, income and disability certificates will be subject to rigorous verification in coordination with the concerned district administration. Candidates found using forged certificates or claiming an ineligible category may face action, including cancellation of admission and other consequences as applicable.

The first round of online counselling will be conducted on the basis of the State Merit List scheduled for publication on August 12, 2026.

Candidates can fill their preferred institutes and courses according to their priorities. The notification does not prescribe a restriction on the number of preferences that can be entered.

Jharkhand NEET UG Counselling 2026 Fees

Candidates have to pay the counselling fee through the prescribed online payment gateway. The notification specifies the following registration/application fee:

  • General/EWS/BC-I/BC-II: Rs.500
  • SC/ST/Female candidates of all categories: Rs.250
  • Divyang candidates: No registration/application fee

A separate counselling fee is applicable during the counselling process. The notification specifies Rs.1,000 for General/EWS/BC-I/BC-II candidates and Rs.500 for SC/ST/Female candidates and Divyang candidates.

Security Deposit for MBBS and BDS

Candidates participating in the counselling process are also required to pay the applicable security deposit depending on the type of institution and category.

The notification states that the security deposit may be forfeited if admission is not taken after seat allotment in the applicable round or if the candidate provides incorrect information or fails to produce the required original certificates. The deposit is refundable in the circumstances specified by the Board.

Candidates recommended for admission must produce the required original certificates/documents during document verification and admission. The notification lists documents including:

Candidates claiming DQ/PwD status must submit the prescribed certificate and other required documents in the specified format.

Important Instructions for Candidates

JCECEB has advised candidates to carefully fill their preferred courses and institutes according to their priorities. Candidates can enter multiple preferences and may modify their choices within the permitted schedule.

Candidates recommended for admission must submit the required original documents. If the original certificates are not produced as required, the Provisional Seat Allotment Letter may be cancelled.

The counselling will be conducted according to the guidelines issued by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Government of India. Any changes in counselling dates, guidelines or other conditions will be notified by the Board.
