Government Medical College and Hospital (GMCH), Chandigarh has released the tentative admission schedule for centralized medical admissions for the 2026 academic session. The schedule covers admissions to MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses through the centralized counselling process.
The prospectus is available online from August 8, 2026, while the online application process has also started on the same date. Candidates are required to submit their applications online through the official GMCH website within the prescribed timeline.

The first counselling for MBBS is scheduled for August 20, 2026, while counselling for BDS and BHMS will be conducted on August 21, 2026. The counselling venue mentioned in the notification is E Block, Academic Block, Government Medical College, Sector 32-A, Chandigarh.
GMCH Chandigarh NEET UG 2026 Application Process
The application form will be available online only on the GMCH Chandigarh website. Candidates are advised to read the admission notice, prospectus and instructions carefully before submitting the application.
Candidates can submit a single application form for MBBS, BDS and BHMS and select multiple courses in the same application. However, an additional application fee will be payable for each course selected.
The notification also states that candidates must complete the online application and fee payment within the prescribed deadline. The last date for submission of the online application form is August 13, 2026, up to 5:30 PM.
Documents Required for Application
Candidates applying for MBBS, BDS and BHMS courses need to upload the applicable documents along with their online application. These include:
- NEET UG 2026 Result Card
- Matriculation Certificate or Birth Certificate
- Class 10 Passing Certificate
- Class 12 Passing Certificate
- Detailed Class 10+2 Marks Sheet
- Applicable UT Chandigarh Pool Seat Certificate
- OCI Card, wherever applicable
- Undertaking/Affidavit regarding residence in another State/UT
- Reserved Category Certificate, wherever applicable
- OBC (NCL) Certificate, wherever applicable
- PwBD Disability Certificate and required affidavit, wherever applicable
Candidates applying under specific categories should ensure that their certificates meet the requirements mentioned in the prospectus.
Documents for Foreign Indian and NRI Candidates
Candidates applying as Foreign Indian Students for MBBS or International/NRI students for BDS are required to submit additional documents. These include the NEET UG 2026 result card, matriculation/higher secondary certificate, Class 10+2 marks sheet or passing certificate, character certificate and applicable eligibility/equivalence certificates.
Candidates who studied from a foreign or international board are required to provide an eligibility and equivalence certificate from Panjab University and the Association of Indian Universities (AIU), as applicable.
They must also upload a passport or relevant document such as an OCI Card, along with applicable category certificates.
First Counselling Dates
The notification provides separate dates for the first counselling of different courses:
- MBBS: August 20, 2026
- BDS: August 21, 2026
- BHMS: August 21, 2026
For MBBS, the counselling includes candidates under General, SC/OBC (NCL)/PwBD categories and Foreign Indian Student (NRI) seats. BDS counselling includes General, reserved categories, J&K category and International/NRI seats, while BHMS counselling covers General and reserved categories.
Candidates should keep their original documents and certificates ready for scrutiny/submission at the time of counselling. The notification also states that candidates should bring a separate set of the online-submitted application form and self-attested copies of relevant certificates/documents for each course applied for.
The schedule is tentative and may be changed by the competent authority, national medical commission or Hon’ble Court. Candidates should therefore regularly check the official GMCH Chandigarh website for the latest admission notices and updates.
