Mizoram NEET Counselling 2026 is the state’s admission process for MBBS seats at Zoram Medical College & Hospital (ZMC&H), Falkawn currently the only medical college in Mizoram, with no dental (BDS) college of its own. The process is conducted by the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education (H&TE), Government of Mizoram, through its Technical Wing, at dhte.mizoram.gov.in.

After the Re-NEET exam held on 21 June 2026 and the NTA’s NEET UG 2026 result on 16 July 2026, the H&TE Department opened its state-quota application process almost immediately, and followed it on 17 July 2026 with a separate public notice inviting NRI Quota applications for ZMC&H, with a submission window from 20 July to 7 August 2026 (up to 3:00 PM on the closing day).
Mizoram’s process doesn’t run on a big online portal, candidates collect a physical Report Form from the Technical Wing office in Aizawl, attach their NEET scorecard, and submit it, the Department then builds a State Merit List and calls candidates in rank-order batches for document verification.

Types of Mizoram NEET Counselling 2026
Mizoram's counselling is compact, but it still runs across a few separate channels:
- State Quota Counselling: The largest share of ZMC&H's MBBS seats, reserved for Mizoram-domiciled candidates and counselled directly by the H&TE Department's Technical Wing.
- NRI Quota Counselling: A separate share of seats for NRI-sponsored candidates, also counselled by the H&TE Department but through its own distinct application window and fee.
- All India Quota (AIQ – 15%): Counselled centrally by MCC, open to NEET-qualified candidates from anywhere in India.
- Regional/Allied Course Seats: Since Mizoram has no dental or full AYUSH college of its own, the H&TE Department also processes a limited number of seats reserved for Mizoram candidates in BDS, BAMS, BHMS, and B.V.Sc & A.H. courses at institutions elsewhere in the North-East (such as NEIGRIHMS, Shillong, and other regional institutes).
Mizoram NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria
Eligibility for Mizoram NEET Counselling 2026 depends on your NEET UG 2026 qualification, academic record, and for the State Quota your domicile status.

Mizoram NEET Counselling Process Step by Step
- Check your NEET UG 2026/Re-NEET result and rank on neet.nta.nic.in.
- Collect a Report Form from the Technical Wing Office, Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl (Rs.10/form for State Quota; Rs.20/form for NRI Quota).
- Attach your NEET UG 2026 scorecard to the Report Form and submit it within the notified window.
- Wait for the Mizoram State Merit List to be published, ranking all applicants by NEET score.
- Check for your rank band's document verification date, candidates are called in batches to report to the Technical Wing office.
- Complete document verification with the Technical Wing, and confirm your willingness to accept the seat, not attending is treated as declining the seat.
- Complete the required medical investigations (Blood Group, CBC, RBS, S. Creatinine, Chest X-ray, ECG) at a Government hospital or a reputed private laboratory, within 3 months of your admission date.
- Pay the ZMC&H admission fee to the college's bank account before starting the admission process.
- Report to Zoram Medical College & Hospital, Falkawn, in person with your parents/guardian, for final document verification.
- Undergo the Final Medical Check-up conducted by the Medical Board at ZMC&H, and sign the required Affidavits of Oath-taking.
- Complete admission is done entirely offline, at the college itself, and admission is only finalised once fees are cleared, documents are verified, medical investigations are cleared, and the candidate is deemed suitable by the institute.
Mizoram NEET Counselling Registration Process
- Mizoram does not use a large online counselling portal for its State/NRI Quota seats instead, candidates collect a readymade Report Form in person from the Technical Wing Office of the Directorate of Higher & Technical Education, located at Chaltlang Lily Veng, Aizawl.
- NEET UG 2026 scorecard must be attached to this Report Form.
- Report Form fee: Rs.10 per form for State Quota applicants & Rs.20 per form for NRI Quota applicants.
- Forms must be submitted within the specified timeline window, for NRI Quota it is from 20 July to 7 August 2026, up to 3:00 PM on the closing day.
- All India Quota (15%) candidates instead register directly on mcc.nic.in, following MCC's own centralised registration and choice-filling process.
Mizoram NEET Counselling Choice Filling
With only one medical college in the state, Mizoram's State/NRI Quota process doesn't involve the kind of multi-college choice filling:
- Your Report Form and NEET scorecard are what place you on the Mizoram State Merit List, there's no separate list of colleges/courses to rank in order of preference.
- Seats are offered strictly in merit order against the available State Quota and NRI Quota seats at ZMC&H.
- AIQ (15%) candidates, however, do use MCC's standard national choice-filling system as part of the regular All India Quota counselling process.
Mizoram NEET Counselling 2026 Documents Required
Keep both scanned copies and originals ready under NMC norms, your original documents stay in the college's custody until you complete the course.
Standard documents required for all candidates:
- Allotment Letter
- Class 10 Marksheet and Certificate
- Class 12 Marksheet and Certificate
- Transfer Certificate
- Migration Certificate
- Character Certificate (from the last institution attended)
- ST/SC/OBC Certificate (if applicable)
- Residential/Domicile Certificate
- NEET UG 2026 Admit Card
- NEET UG 2026 Marksheet/Score Card
- Gap Period Certificate/Affidavit (if applicable)
- PwD Certificate (if applicable)
- Copy of Aadhaar Card
- Results of the six Medical Investigations (Blood Group, CBC, RBS, S. Creatinine, Chest X-ray, ECG)
Additional documents required for NRI Quota candidates:
- Document showing the exchange rate at the time of fee payment, signed and sealed by the Bank Manager
- Documents establishing that the sponsor is an NRI
- A notarised Relationship Affidavit between the NRI sponsor and the candidate
- A notarised Affidavit of Undertaking from the sponsor, committing to fund the candidate for the entire course
- An Embassy Certificate for the sponsor, issued by the relevant Consulate
Mizoram NEET Counselling Reservation Policy
Mizoram's population is overwhelmingly Scheduled Tribe (Mizo), and this is reflected in how State Quota seats are distributed, the college's own admission documents list ST/SC/OBC certificates as reservation-relevant, alongside a PwD category.
| Category | Reservation Basis |
|---|---|
| Scheduled Tribe (ST) | The majority of Mizoram's State Quota seats, reflecting the state's predominantly ST population |
| Scheduled Caste (SC) / Other Backward Classes (OBC) | Reservation applies where applicable, on production of a valid certificate |
| Persons with Disabilities (PwD) | Reservation as per NMC/MCC benchmark disability norms, subject to certification |
| All India Quota (15%) | Follows the central reservation policy applicable across India, not Mizoram's own category structure |
All reservation and domicile certificates for State Quota purposes must be issued by the competent authority within Mizoram, certificates from other states are not valid for State Quota benefits.
Mizoram NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Process
- Seat allotment for the State and NRI Quotas is based on the Mizoram State Merit List, built from each applicant's NEET UG 2026 score and rank.
- Candidates are called for document verification in rank-order batches.
- Confirming your seat at this stage does not complete your admission, you must still go through offline admission finalisation at Zoram Medical College & Hospital itself.
- At ZMC&H, admission involves payment of the admission fee, submission of original documents for verification (with parents/guardian present), a Final Medical Check-up by the college's Medical Board, and signed Affidavits of Oath-taking.
- Admission is not finalised unless the candidate has cleared all admission fees, completed the offline admission process, produced all required documents, passed the medical investigations, and is deemed suitable for admission by the institute.
- Candidates who fail to report or join within the stipulated date, without prior permission from the concerned authorities, are liable to have their admission cancelled.
- Do not contact ZMC&H directly regarding seat allotment, all queries about the State Quota and NRI Quota allotment process go to the Technical Wing, H&TE Department, not the college.
Mizoram NEET Counselling 2026 Fees
Mizoram's counselling fee itself is minimal (Rs.10-20 per Report Form), but ZMC&H's own admission and academic fees are more substantial. Here's the official fee structure notified by the college.
