Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 will be conducted by the Department of Medical Education and Research (DMER), Himachal Pradesh, for admission to MD, MS, and DNB degree courses for the academic session 2025–26. The counselling will be conducted in the online mode for 50% of the State Quota seats in Government Medical Colleges of the state and all seats of Private Medical Colleges of the state. The online application process for Himachal Pradesh NEET PG 2025 counselling has started on October 25, 2025, through the official website www.amruhp.ac.in. The last date for submission will be announced soon. The application fee is Rs. 3600 for General and EWS candidates, Rs. 2500 for SC/ST candidates, and exempted for PwD applicants. Only candidates who qualified NEET PG 2025 with the minimum required percentile, i.e. 50th percentile for General, 45th percentile for UR-PwBD and 40th percentile for SC/ST/OBC are eligible to apply.

Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 Application Process

Candidates wishing to apply for MD/MS/DNB programs in Himachal Pradesh in the academic year 2025-26 must apply through the AMRU website only at www.amruhp.ac.in. Application forms will only be accepted in online mode. Under no circumstance will offline applications be accepted. Candidates must ensure that they meet all eligibility requirements before beginning the application process.

Step 1: Registration

  • To apply for admission and counselling, candidates should visit the AMRU website and go to the Menu section, then select Admission, followed by Apply for Admission and Counselling, and finally choose PG MD/MS/DNB.
  • You will need to register using an email ID that is both valid and unique, along with a unique mobile number.
  • Complete all details accurately, as they appear in your NEET PG 2025 registration, including (Name, Father’s Name, Roll Number, etc.).
  • You will need to validate you email and mobile through an OTP.
  • After verification, complete the registration by entering the captcha code and clicking “Register.”

Step 2: Payment of Application Fee

  • Pay the non-refundable fee online for General/EWS is Rs.3600, SC/ST is Rs.2500 and No fee for PwD.
  • Fee payment alone does not complete the process. Candidates must fill out and submit the form after payment.
  • Incorrect or duplicate payments will not be refunded or adjusted.

Step 3: Filling the Application Form

  • Enter personal details such as name, DOB, category, and domicile correctly.
  • Upload a recent photograph (max 40 KB) and signature (max 20 KB) in JPG/JPEG format.
  • Provide address and contact information accurately.
  • Fill in your education information such as MBBS, college attended, year of completion, and internship completion.
  • Upload all required documents in the appropriate size and format.
  • Eligible candidates must also choose the option for Management Quota when submitting their application.

Step 4: Final Submission

  • Make sure to review everything carefully before clicking “Final Submit.” Ensure you review all of your information thoroughly before clicking on “Final Submit” to submit the application.
  • When you submit your application, you must download and print the application PDF for your records.
  • Everything that has been submitted is final, and there will not be an option to edit. Therefore, if you submitted something incorrectly, you will need to submit a new application with a new email ID.

Step 5: Post-Submission Process

  • Incomplete or unpaid applications will be automatically deleted after the deadline.
  • For future rounds of counselling, candidates must submit a fresh application.
  • AMRU may request original or scanned documents for verification at any stage.

Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 Admission Process

Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 is conducted by the Department of Medical Education and Research, Himachal Pradesh, through the Atal Medical and Research University (AMRU). The counselling is held online and covers 50% of State Quota PG seats in Government Medical Colleges and all seats in Private Medical Colleges of the state.

Each round of counselling is treated as an independent process, and the rules of a specific round apply only to that round. Once the next round begins, it supersedes the previous one.

Round-1 Vacancies: The total number of seats available category-wise will be displayed before counselling begins.

Round-2 and Subsequent Rounds:

  • Clear-Cut Vacancies: Seats that are leftover from the previous rounds. 
  • Virtual Vacancies: Vacancy for seats that may arise from upgradation or a change of college/course by candidates.

Candidates are advised to fill as many of their choices for colleges, courses, and quotas as they may be visible for vacancy listing and new seats may become available throughout the process.

  • Candidates opting for both State and Management Quota must pay the higher amount.
  • Candidates who paid the token money in earlier rounds but were not allotted a seat need not pay again.
  • Refunds are issued only if no seat is allotted, while failure to join after allotment results in forfeiture of the token amount.

Eligibility Restrictions

  • Candidates admitted through All India Counselling (MCC/DGHS) up to Round-3 are not eligible for State Counselling by AMRU.
  • Candidates admitted through State Counselling (AMRU) up to Round-3 are not eligible for the Stray Vacancy Round.
  • Registered candidates who were not allotted a seat or did not join remain eligible up to Round-3.

Round 3

  • Fresh registration allowed for unregistered candidates only.
  • Previously registered candidates can participate without re-registration.

Stray Vacancy Round

  • No new inter-college shifting allowed except from Private to Government Medical College (for course/quota upgradation).
  • Fresh registration allowed for unregistered candidates.
  • Combined merit list displayed.
  • Non-reporting after allotment leads to cancellation and ineligibility for further rounds.

Document Verification

  • Final eligibility is determined by the Scrutiny Committee at the allotted college.
  • Submission of false or incorrect information leads to cancellation of admission at any stage.

Admission of Non-Himachali Candidates

  • If any State Quota seat remains vacant in the last round and no eligible Himachali candidate is available, it may be allotted to a Management Quota candidate under the State Quota fee structure, after exhausting all Management Quota seats.

Reporting and Medical Examination

  • Candidates must report in person to the allotted college for document verification and medical fitness.
  • Those found medically unfit will not be admitted.
  • Migration certificate (for students from other universities) and registration formalities must be completed after joining.

Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 Reservation Policy & Roster System

Admissions to MD/MS/DNB courses in Himachal Pradesh under NEET PG 2025 will be made strictly on the basis of merit-cum-choice of specialty, following the 40-point and 6-point roster systems approved by the Government of Himachal Pradesh and the National Medical Commission (NMC).

Himachal Pradesh NEET PG Counselling 2025 Service Bond Policy

Himachal Pradesh government has made it compulsory for all candidates admitted to MD/MS/DNB courses in government medical and dental colleges to sign a service bond to ensure that postgraduate doctors work for the state for a specified period after completing PG studies.

Bond Duration & Period of Service

  • In-service GDOs (within the State): a 4 years commitment to serve the state, 1 year of which will be mandatory field posting after PG completion.
  • GDOs doing PG outside the State (sponsored): a 5 years commitment to serve the state, 1 year of which will be mandatory field posting after PG completion.
  • Direct Candidates (non-GDOs): Must serve the state for 2 years, including 1 year of mandatory field posting after PG.

Bond Execution

  • The bond amount is Rs.40 lakh for PG courses and Rs.90 lakh for combined PG + Superspeciality.
  • Candidates must submit:
  1. Legal bond undertaking (attested by Executive Magistrate)
  2. Undated cheque (Rs.40/Rs.90 lakh in the name of DHS/DME)
  3. Original degree certificates (to be retained until bond completion)
  • These documents are held by the Directorate of Health Services (DHS/DDHS) for GDOs and the College Principal for direct candidates.

Violation of Bond Terms

If a candidate fails to serve the state or violates the bond conditions:

  • The bond amount and stipend/salary will be recovered with 18% annual interest.
  • The undated cheque will be encashed.
  • The original degree will not be returned, and registration may be cancelled by the Medical/Dental Council.
  • Disciplinary action will be taken against GDOs as per state service rules.
