Fresh Option Registration Mandatory for Third Phase
CEE Kerala has clarified that candidates must register their options afresh for the third phase of MBBS/BDS allotment. Candidates who received allotment/admission in previous phases as well as candidates who did not receive any allotment must register their options to be considered in the third phase.
However, candidates who received allotment and admission in an earlier phase and do not register their options for the third phase will retain their admission through the previous phase.
The notification also states that unallotted category seats will be converted during this phase according to the existing prospectus conditions.
What Happens If a Candidate Gets Allotment in Third Phase?
Candidates who receive an allotment in the third phase must join the allotted college/course within the prescribed deadline.
If a candidate receives an allotment in the third phase but does not join the allotted college/course within the prescribed date, the allotment in the third phase as well as the previous phase will be lost. The options registered by the candidate in that particular stream will also be cancelled.
Therefore, candidates are advised to register options only for courses and colleges where they are willing to take admission and continue their studies.
Kerala NEET UG 2026 Third Phase Option Registration Fee
Candidates who wish to register options afresh and candidates who received allotment in previous phases but did not take admission or took a TC after admission are required to pay an Option Registration Fee of ₹5,000 to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
For candidates belonging to SC/ST/OEC categories and candidates covered under the specified government orders, including candidates from Sree Chitra Home, Juvenile Home and Nirbhaya Home, the registration fee is Rs.500.
Refund and Adjustment of Registration Fee
The notification specifies different treatment of the registration fee depending on the allotment and admission status.
- Candidates allotted seats in Government Medical/Dental Colleges will have the registration fee carried over towards the tuition fee of the allotted course.
- Candidates who do not receive any allotment will have their registration fee refunded.
- For candidates allotted seats in private self-financing medical/dental colleges, the registration fee will be refunded after the closing date of admission, provided the candidate has taken admission.
- Candidates who receive an allotment but do not take admission will have the registration fee treated as a penalty and it will not be refunded.
- For eligible SC/ST/OEC and specified categories, the registration fee of candidates who take admission will be adjusted against the caution deposit.
The registration fee can be paid through online payment.
Token Fee
Candidates allotted MBBS/BDS seats in self-financing medical or dental colleges must pay the applicable fee/balance fee as mentioned in the allotment memo to the respective college.
Candidates allotted seats in Government Medical/Dental Colleges are required to pay the complete fee to the Commissioner for Entrance Examinations.
Candidates belonging to SC/ST/OEC categories, Fishermen category and candidates covered under the specified government orders, as well as candidates from Sree Chitra Home, Juvenile Home and Nirbhaya Home, are not required to pay the token fee. However, if such candidates are allotted seats under Minority/NRI quota in self-financing medical/dental colleges, they have to pay the prescribed fee and will not be eligible for fee concession.
