MCC NEET UG 2024 Security Deposit Refund Process Initiated

Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) has officially initiated the refund process for the Security Deposit of candidates who participated in the NEET UG 2024 Counselling. As per MCC’s guidelines, all eligible candidates who have fulfilled the necessary conditions will receive their refunds. The refund process is managed by MCC’s financial custodian, and a list of candidates eligible for the refund, categorized by roll number, is attached in the enclosed PDF.

The Security Deposit is an amount collected from candidates during the NEET UG counselling process to ensure fair participation. It is refundable to candidates under specific conditions set by MCC. The committee has now processed the refunds, and candidates are advised to review their bank statements to confirm the receipt of funds.

Who is Eligible for the Refund?

The Security Deposit is refunded to:

  • Candidates who did not take admission to any allotted seat after participating in counselling.
  • Candidates who exited the counselling process as per MCC’s withdrawal policies.
  • Candidates who were not allotted any seat during the counselling rounds.
  • Those who completed the counselling process and adhered to MCC’s terms and conditions.

Candidates who were allotted seats but did not report to the respective colleges, or those who left the admission process after the final round without following proper withdrawal procedures, may not be eligible for a refund as per MCC’s rules.

Important Points for Candidates Regarding Refunds

MCC has issued the following important guidelines regarding the refund process:

  • 1. Refund Credited to Original Payment Method: The security deposit refund has been credited to the same account/card from which the initial payment was made. Candidates are advised to check their respective bank accounts to verify the refund status.
  • 2. Refund Processing Time: The refund process varies based on the banking institution. The credited amount will reflect in the candidate’s account within 1 to 15 days, depending on the level of automation and processing efficiency of the respective bank.
  • 3. Dealing with Delayed Refunds: If candidates experience an inordinate delay in receiving their refund beyond the expected 15-day period, they should contact their bank’s Grievance Cell and provide the refund reference number for resolution. MCC is not responsible for bank-specific processing delays.
