Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 schedule has been extended following the extension of the All India Quota (AIQ) counselling by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC). As per the notification dated August 18, 2026, candidates participating in Tamil Nadu State UG Medical Counselling Round 1 will now get additional time to complete their registration, fee payment, choice filling and choice locking.
The revised schedule applies to admissions to MBBS and BDS degree courses in Tamil Nadu government medical and dental colleges, ESIC Medical College, self-financing medical and dental colleges, and other participating institutions under the applicable government, management, NRI and minority quota seats.

Registration and Choice Filling Extended
Under the earlier schedule, Round 1 registration, payment, choice filling and locking were scheduled to close on August 19, 2026, at 5:00 PM. With the latest extension, candidates can now complete these activities until August 20, 2026, at 5:00 PM.
Candidates who have not yet completed the process should ensure that their registration, fee payment, choice filling and choice locking are completed within the revised deadline.
Seat Allotment Result on August 22
The processing of Round 1 seat allotment will be conducted on August 21, 2026, while the allotment result will be published on August 22, 2026.
Candidates allotted seats in Round 1 will be able to download their Provisional Allotment Order from August 22 to August 28, 2026, up to 12:00 Noon.
Last Date for Reporting is August 28
Candidates who receive a seat allotment must complete the required admission and reporting formalities at their allotted institution within the prescribed timeline. The last date for reporting/joining for Tamil Nadu NEET UG Counselling 2026 Round 1 is August 28, 2026, up to 5:00 PM.
Candidates are advised to carefully check the revised schedule and complete each counselling activity before the respective deadline. The extension has been issued in view of the MCC notification extending the All India Quota counselling, and candidates should follow the latest instructions issued by the Tamil Nadu Selection Committee.
