Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2026 Dates

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2026 date for registration, choice filling, and seat allotment will be released round-wise by CGDME on its official website. Based on the current national timeline (Re-NEET UG 2026 result declared on July 16, 2026, and MCC's schedule expected in the fourth week of July 2026), the state counselling schedule is also expected to follow shortly after, generally within a few days to weeks of the MCC schedule.

Types of Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2026

This covers four broad categories of seats, all conducted by CGDME through a single online counselling process:

1. State Quota Seats of Government Medical/Dental Colleges

100% of the seats in Government Medical and Government Dental Colleges of Chhattisgarh (outside the 15% All India Quota contributed to MCC) are counselled by CGDME under the state quota.

2. Government Quota Seats of Private Colleges

50% of the seats in every Private Medical, Private Dental, and Private Physiotherapy College (excluding NRI seats) form the Government Quota, filled through merit-based counselling by CGDME, following the same reservation policy as government colleges.

3. Management Quota Seats of Private Colleges

The remaining 50% of private college seats (excluding NRI seats) form the Management Quota. Candidates from within Chhattisgarh as well as outside the state are eligible, though out-of-state reserved category candidates do not get the benefit of a relaxed qualifying percentile or category reservation, and are allotted purely on a common merit list basis.

4. NRI Quota Seats of Private Colleges

15% of the seats in every private college are reserved as NRI Quota, open to candidates sponsored by a Non-Resident Indian relative, with fees payable in foreign currency. OCI (Overseas Citizen of India) cardholders are also eligible for the general category NRI seats, as per Supreme Court directions.

Note: Central Pool nomination seats (maintained by the Ministry of Defence, Ministry of External Affairs, and other central ministries) are not part of Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling and are handled separately.

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling Process Step by Step

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling consists of a total of 4 Rounds that are Round 1, Round 2, Mop-Up Round, and Stray Vacancy Round. Although each round process is generally the same.

Round 1

1. First, the registration has to be done on the official website cgdme.admissions.nic.in along with the submission of non-refundable application fee and refundable security deposit. 
2. After that, all candidates have to submit the locked choices for preferred colleges and courses. 
3. All the candidates have the option to unlock their choices as many times they wish to and refill new choices, but this has to be done using the OTP generated via login credentials until the deadline for the final locking. 
4. Next, the Seat allotment will be conducted and the results will be displayed on the CGDME website. 
5. If a candidate is allotted seats in the Government Medical College, they are mandated to report in person for document verification and admission will be compulsory if they are found eligible. 
6. In the case if a candidate is allotted seats in the Private Medical College, Government Dental College or Private Dental College, they must report for the verification, but admission will be optional for these seats. The verification must be done by each candidate irrespective of their decision to join the allotted college. 
7. Candidates wishing to upgrade to Round 2 must log in to their candidate portal and declare willingness to upgrade using OTP; doing so nullifies their previous choice list, and they must fill fresh choices for Round 2.
8. A seat allotted in Round 1 is never allotted again to the same candidate in Round 2 or later rounds.
9. Free exit without forfeiture of the security deposit is available only in Round 1, as per the Graduate Medical Education (Amendment) Regulations.

Round 2

1. Fresh choice filling for unallotted candidates, new registrants, and those seeking upgradation.
2. Publication of the Round 2 result on the CGDME website.
3. Reporting at the allotted college for scrutiny and admission.
4. From Round 2 onward, the security deposit is forfeited if an allotted candidate does not take admission, or withdraws after completing admission formalities.

Mop-Up Round

1. Open to all unallotted candidates from Round 2, and to Dental College allottees from Round 2 who completed scrutiny but did not join.
2. Candidates already admitted in Government or Private Dental Colleges are eligible for upgradation to a Medical College in this round.
3. Fresh online choice filling, followed by result publication and reporting for scrutiny and admission.
4. Candidates admitted after Mop-Up Round allotment in a Government Medical/Dental College cannot leave their seat after the last admission date without paying the applicable bond/compensation amount.

Stray Vacancy Round

1. No fresh registration is allowed in this round, only candidates already registered and unallotted in any previous round can participate.
2. Conducted fully online, in compliance with NMC guidelines, for both government and private participating institutes.
3. Fresh choice filling, result publication, and reporting for scrutiny and admission follow the same online process as earlier rounds.

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling Eligibility Criteria

To be eligible for this counselling, a candidate must satisfy the following conditions as per admission rules:

Nationality & Domicile	Candidate must be an Indian citizen and a bonafide resident (domicile) of Chhattisgarh to be eligible for Government Quota seats in Government and Private Medical/Dental Colleges. Candidates from other states are eligible only for Management Quota seats.
Minimum Age	Candidate must have completed 17 years of age on or before 31 December 2026.
Educational Qualification	Must have passed Class 12 (Higher Secondary) from the Chhattisgarh Board or any other recognized board with English, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology as compulsory subjects.
Minimum PCB Marks – General (UR)	Must have secured at least 50% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology in the qualifying examination.
Minimum PCB Marks – Reserved Categories	SC, ST, OBC, and other eligible reserved category candidates must have secured at least 40% aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology.
NEET UG Qualification	Candidate must have qualified NEET UG 2026 by securing the prescribed qualifying percentile or marks notified by NTA.
NEET Qualifying Percentile – General (UR)	50th Percentile or the category-wise qualifying marks prescribed by NEET UG 2026, whichever is applicable.
NEET Qualifying Percentile – Reserved Categories	40th Percentile for SC/ST/OBC candidates or the prescribed qualifying marks, whichever is applicable.
NEET Qualifying Percentile – UR PwD	45th Percentile or the prescribed qualifying marks as notified by NEET UG 2026.
Management Quota Eligibility	Candidates from outside Chhattisgarh are eligible for Management Quota seats, provided they satisfy all eligibility conditions except the domicile requirement. However, they cannot claim reservation benefits or relaxed qualifying percentile available to Chhattisgarh domicile candidates.
NRI Quota Eligibility	Candidates applying under the NRI Quota must satisfy the prevailing Government rules and fulfil all prescribed eligibility conditions except the state domicile requirement, as applicable under Rule 3(a).
Important Note	Candidates must also comply with the latest eligibility conditions, reservation rules, and admission guidelines issued by the Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Chhattisgarh for the 2026 counselling session.

Candidates participating in Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2026 must produce the required original documents along with two sets of self-attested photocopies during both the document scrutiny (counselling) and the admission process.

Chhattisgarh NEET Counselling 2026 Fees

Every registration for Chhattisgarh NEET UG Counselling 2026 requires payment of a non-refundable application fee plus a refundable security deposit.

Security deposit is refunded only to the same bank account it was paid from, and only if the candidate is found eligible for a refund as per the rules. From Round 2 onward, the security deposit is forfeited if an allotted candidate does not join, or withdraws after completing admission.

MBBS Government Service Bond

Students admitted to the MBBS course in Government Medical Colleges must serve as a Medical Officer for one year in a government facility after graduation, or pay a bond amount if they opt out of this service:

Mid-Course Seat Leaving Penalty (Breakage Bond)

If a candidate admitted in MBBS, BDS, or BPT leaves their seat mid-course after the last admission date of the third round (Mop-Up), the following compensation is payable:

A candidate who becomes medically unfit during the course, as certified by the State Medical Board, may be given relief in the bond amount under special circumstances.

Choice filling is one of the most important steps in CG NEET Counselling 2026, since your allotment depends entirely on your locked preferences matched against your merit position.

• Fill and arrange choices strictly in genuine order of preference across government colleges, private Government Quota seats, and Management Quota seats you're eligible for.
• Choices can be unlocked and refilled any number of times using OTP verification before the deadline, use this flexibility to refine your list.
• Once submitted and locked, a seat allotted for a particular subject and institute will never be allotted again to the same candidate in a later round, even if you decline it.
• Always verify a private college's fee structure and any additional charges directly with the college before finalising your choices, since CGDME does not take responsibility for such college-specific information.
• Track the counselling timetable on the CGDME website regularly, the responsibility for missing any update lies entirely with the candidate.

Reservation for Government Quota seats (in both Government and Private Colleges) under this counselling is as follows:

Seat Allotment, Upgradation & Exit Rules

• Candidates allotted a Government Medical College seat in Round 1 must compulsorily take admission if found eligible in scrutiny; opting out puts them out of the counselling process entirely.
• Candidates allotted a Private Medical, Government Dental, or Private Dental College seat can choose not to join after scrutiny, but must still undergo scrutiny to remain eligible for further rounds.
• To upgrade in the next round, a candidate must log in to their portal and declare willingness to upgrade using OTP; their previous choice list is then nullified, and fresh choices must be filled.
• A seat once allotted for a particular subject and institute is never allotted again to the same candidate in any subsequent round.
• Free exit without security deposit forfeiture applies only in Round 1; from Round 2 onward, not joining an allotted seat (or withdrawing after joining) leads to forfeiture of the security deposit.
• Students admitted after Mop-Up Round allotment in a government college cannot leave their seat after the final admission date without paying the applicable compensation bond.
• Candidates who do not get their documents scrutinised, or are found ineligible in scrutiny, are removed from the counselling process for that academic session.
