Goa NEET Counselling 2026 is conducted by the Directorate of Technical Education (DTE), Goa, on its official website dte.goa.gov.in for candidates who have cleared NEET UG 2026 and hoping to study MBBS, BDS, or any AYUSH, Nursing or Allied Health course in Goa. This is the process that turns your NEET UG 2026 score into an actual seat in a Goa medical, dental or AYUSH college.

NEET UG 2026 original exam, held on 3rd May 2026, was cancelled following a paper leak controversy, and NTA conducted a fresh Re-NEET UG 2026 exam on 21st June 2026. The result of this re-exam was finally declared on 16th July 2026, with over 11.21 lakh candidates qualifying across the country. Because of this, every state’s counselling calendar has been pushed back by close to two months compared to a normal year.

Types of Goa NEET Counselling 2026
Goa's admission process for NEET-qualified candidates isn't one single counselling, it actually runs across a few parallel tracks:
- All India Quota (AIQ) Counselling: 15% of MBBS seats (30 seats) and 15% of BDS seats (8 seats) at Goa Medical College and Goa Dental College are counselled centrally by the Medical Counselling Committee (MCC), open to NEET-qualified candidates from anywhere in India, irrespective of Goa domicile.
- State Quota Counselling: The remaining 85% of MBBS/BDS seats, plus effectively all seats in BHMS, BAMS, BNYS, B.Sc. Nursing and Allied Health Sciences, are counselled by DTE Goa under this Common Prospectus, largely for candidates with Goa residency/domicile.
- NRI/OCI/PIO Quota: A small number of seats across MBBS, BDS and other courses are set aside for NRI, OCI and PIO category applicants, counselled within the same DTE Goa process.
- Management Quota: Applicable mainly to self-financed Pharmacy and Engineering seats (not MBBS/BDS), where private institutions handle admissions directly for their management quota share.
- Goa-Reserved Seats at MAFSU (for B.V.Sc. & A.H.): Separately, Goa reserves 11 seats for its own residents in the Bachelor of Veterinary Science & Animal Husbandry course at Maharashtra Animal & Fishery Sciences University (MAFSU) campuses, based purely on NEET-2026 merit, with a mandatory Goa residency and rural service bond.
If you're eligible for both AIQ and State Quota, keep an eye on both timelines, the AIQ round opens first, and missing it while waiting on the state notification is one of the most common mistakes NEET aspirants make.

Goa NEET Counselling Registration Process & Choice Filling
Registration for Goa NEET Counselling is conducted through DTE Goa's common application form and in-person rounds. Here's how it typically plays out:
- Fill the common application form as per the schedule notified on dte.goa.gov.in, entering every course and category you're eligible for and wish to apply under, changes to category or course aren't allowed after the last date.
- Attach your photograph (not older than 3 months) and all specified enclosures, and submit before the deadline. Late applications are rejected outright, and postal delays are not DTE's responsibility.
- NEET UG 2026 scorecard: if your result isn't out by the application deadline, you can submit it within 8 days of the official declaration.
- "Choice filling" happens in person, not by locking preferences online. At your turn in the merit list, during the counselling round at DTE Porvorim, you personally choose from the seats still available across eligible courses and colleges.
- Once you accept a seat, deposit your original documents, and pay fees, the admission is locked in for that round, if you skip your turn or don't accept, the seat moves to the next candidate in merit.
- Vertical mobility (switching institute, course, category or branch during subsequent rounds) is allowed and isn't treated as a cancellation, but no refund applies if you move out of a course where no further rounds are scheduled.

Seat Allotment & Important Rules
Some rules that change how you should plan your counselling day:
- Attendance is compulsory: Every eligible candidate wanting admission must be physically present at their allotted round, with original documents and fees. Absentees simply forfeit their turn.
- Reporting deadline: Once allotted a seat, you must report to the institute within 3 working days, or the admission can be cancelled and you may be barred from further rounds.
- Vertical mobility: You can move between courses/institutes/categories in later rounds without it counting as a "cancellation", except SC/ST/OBC/EWS candidates and Tuition Fee Waiver beneficiaries have specific protections here.
- Bond for MBBS/BDS/AHS: Selected candidates must sign a bond to serve the Goa Government for 1 year after completing the course, with a penalty of ₹10 lakh if they resign or fail to serve.
- Medical fitness check: MBBS and BDS admissions are provisional until the Medical Board at Goa Medical College certifies you as medically fit.
- Ragging is a serious offence: Admission can be cancelled or a student expelled if involved in ragging.
- Document custody: Your original documents and fee receipts stay with the Admission Committee (through the institute's nominee) until the next round, so on-the-spot refunds remain possible during vertical mobility.
- Cancellation fees: ₹1,000 before the term commences, ₹2,000 before the last notified date of an admission round; no refund after that, except for genuine vertical-mobility cases.
- Admission fee (₹2,100) is non-refundable under any circumstance except candidate death/incapacitation within 90 days of the final round.

Goa NEET Counselling Cut Off
Goa's MBBS/BDS cut offs move a little every year based on how many candidates apply and how competitive that year's NEET turns out to be. As a reference point, in 2025 the General category closing rank for MBBS at Goa Medical College settled at around 23,562, with OBC closing near 16,989, these are last year's numbers and 2026's cut offs will depend on this year's overall NEET difficulty level and applicant pool, especially given the unusual Re-NEET cycle this year.
