Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling Choice Filling

Web options, commonly called choice filling, decide which college and course a candidate is finally allotted in Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling 2026.

    • Options can be exercised only after certificate verification is completed for that phase.
    • Candidates should list colleges and courses strictly in the order of genuine preference, since allotment is done purely on merit-cum-option and a higher-preference seat available at the candidate's rank is allotted automatically.
    • Options can generally be modified any number of times before the final submission deadline for that phase, after which the options are locked and cannot be changed.
    • Candidates are advised to exercise as many options as possible, including colleges they may not be fully certain about, since a wider set of options improves the chance of getting a seat and unused options simply go unallotted.
    • Fresh web options need to be exercised for Phase-II if a candidate wants to be considered for an upgrade or a new allotment in that phase.

Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling 2026 Documents Required

Keep the following documents ready in original, along with self-attested photocopies, at the time of certificate verification and again while reporting to the allotted college.

    Scheduled Tribe (ST)6%

Anglo-Indian1 seat reserved, if an eligible candidate is available

If eligible local candidates are not available in a reserved category, unfilled seats are first offered within the same local area under the unreserved category, and only converted to the non-local pool as a last resort, following the roster procedure notified by Dr. NTR UHS.

Andhra Pradesh NEET Counselling Seat Allotment Process

Seat allocation for Andhra Pradesh NEET Counseling 2026 takes place strictly on a merit cum option basis for all phases.

    • Allocation depends on the ranking, category, locality, and sequence of web options filled by the candidate.
    • A tentative allotment is converted to final after payment of fees, printing of allotment letter, and reporting to the allocated institution with original certificates within the notified time limit.
    • Those candidates who fail to report within the time limit lose their allotted seats and these seats are then carried forward to the next phase.
    • Candidates already admitted in Phase-I can seek an upgrade in Phase-II by exercising fresh options; if upgraded, the earlier seat is automatically surrendered and goes back into the pool.
    • Meritorious Reserved Candidates (MRC), that is, reserved category candidates who qualify on their own merit within the unreserved cut-off, are first adjusted against unreserved seats before the reservation roster is applied, so that reservation is used only by candidates who genuinely need it.
    • A final phase, generally restricted to private colleges, is conducted after Phase-II for any seats that still remain vacant, followed by institutional-level reporting for any seats left thereafter.
    • Candidates already allotted a seat through MCC's All India Quota counselling are not considered again in the subsequent phase of the state Competent Authority Quota.
