Assam NEET Counselling 2025 Round 3 Schedule

Directorate of Medical Education (DME), Assam has published the timetable for Assam NEET UG Counselling 2025 Round 3 for MBBS and BDS admission courses under the State Quota in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam. All candidates who have qualified in NEET-UG 2025  conducted by the National Testing Agency (NTA) and satisfy the eligibility criteria as per “The Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) are eligible to register for this Round.

The online registration portal will be available on the official website (www.dme.assam.gov.in) from the date October 6, 2025, to October 9, 2025 (up to 11:55 PM). Candidates who have already registered in Rounds 1 and 2 need not register again for Round 3 and will have to register only for choice filling, which will be available from October 10 to October 13, 2025. 

After the choice filling and locking is finished, the seat allotment process will take place on October 14 to October 16, 2025, and Round 3 results will be published on October 17, 2025. The provisionally selected candidates are required to report and complete the admission process between October 21 and October 22, 2025. 

The third round is the final opportunity for candidates to get a State Quota seat in Government Medical and Dental Colleges of Assam in the 2025-26 academic session.

Assam NEET Counselling 2025 Round 3 Important Dates

Candidates who have qualified in NEET-UG 2025 and meet all eligibility conditions can take part in this round. Those who have already registered in earlier rounds do not need to register again and can directly fill their choices during the choice-filling window.

Eligibility Criteria for State Quota Seats – Assam NEET Counselling 2025

Candidates seeking admission to MBBS and BDS courses under the State Quota seats in Assam must fulfill the following eligibility conditions as per the Medical Colleges and Dental Colleges of Assam (Regulation of Admission into 1st Year MBBS/BDS Courses) Rules, 2017 (Amended up to 2025).

These criteria ensure that only genuine residents of Assam and eligible NEET-qualified candidates are considered for admission.

Modes of Selection of State Quota Candidates – Assam NEET Counselling 2025

Directorate of Medical Education (DME) in Assam conducts the admissions process to the 1st year MBBS and BDS programs for the State Quota in a transparent and merit-based process. The admissions process includes a number of steps, from submission of the Declaration Form to the list prepared for counselling. The detailed means of selection and eligibility conditions for selection under the Assam State Quota – seats are listed below:

1. Application Submission

Candidates who qualify for NEET as per the NEET Rules must apply to DME, Assam after the announcement of the NEET results using a Declaration Form.

  • The Declaration Form will be available online (www.dme.assam.gov.in). 
  • Candidates must complete and return the Declaration Form promptly to be eligible for the State Quota process.

2. Eligibility of Candidates to be Called for Counselling

To qualify to be called for counseling under the State Quota, a candidate must meet minimum academic and examination qualifications as follows: 

  1. The candidate must have passed the qualifying examination (10+2 or equivalent) successfully. 
  2. The candidate must have passed all four subjects — Physics, Chemistry, Biology/Biotechnology (with practical), and English in the same sitting and without granting grace marks. 
  3. Minimum marks requirement in the qualifying examination: 
  • General/Unreserved Category: A minimum of 60 percent aggregate marks in Physics, Chemistry, and Biology/Biotechnology taken together. 
  • SC/ST(P)/ST(H)/OBC/MOBC Category: A minimum of 50 percent aggregate marks in the three subjects. 
  1. Candidates who have secured 1st or 2nd rank in the HSSLC (Science) Examination conducted by the Assam Higher Secondary Education Council (AHSEC) are also eligible to be called for counselling, provided they:
  • Obtain qualifying marks in NEET.
  • Submit authenticated proof of their position within seven (7) days from the declaration of the HSSLC (Science) or NEET result (whichever is later).
  • Fulfil all other eligibility conditions for admission.

These top-ranked candidates will be placed at the top of the counselling list of their respective categories, irrespective of their NEET rank, and will be offered admission if all other criteria are met.

3. Preparation of the Counselling List

The Director of Medical Education, Assam, is responsible for preparing the counselling list based on merit and category after receiving the Declaration Forms from the eligible candidates from the State Quota and the State Merit List of the selected candidates from the NEET conducted authority.

The list will be published through an Educational Notice in an appropriate news paper and also on the official website (www.dme.assam.gov.in). The notice will contain:

  • Dates of counselling
  • Venue and Time
  • Important terms and conditions, which should be fulfilled by candidates, who may be called for counselling.
